STAND FOR CHANGE (The FloodLight Bulletin)

This is an article i wrote for the Youth Bulletin of CCC Olusesi Parish. All rights to this article exclusively belong to the Media Department of the Olusesi Youth Ministry. In this article, I briefly shared a little of my thoughts on the great church: The Celestial Church of Christ.

Greetings to you my brothers and my sisters in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Have you ever tried to imagine how lucky we are to still be in the Celestial Church of Christ? In this world where the church is rejected by a huge percentage of the society and even by a greater percentage of Christians. Many of our youths have helplessly walked out of the church. I have personally thought of leaving too, but I concluded that quitting isn’t the best option, but change in the church is the best option, and I am ready to stand for change.

We are being called names and censured, but God still answers our prayers in the name of Jesus Christ. I honestly don’t blame those who criticize us, I rather blame the irresponsible nature of some of us in the Celestial Church. Several of our elders are experts in polygamy, most of our youths are skilled serial fornicators. Most elders are kingpins in adultery and all forms of corruption. Financial unaccountability trends with our ‘ogas at the top’, lateness to church is a thing of pride to many of us.

Disorderliness is not a rare thing in most of our churches. Our list of shame goes on and on. We have totally gone against the rules of the church, we have kicked against what Celestial Church stands for. But despite this, God still answers our prayers. God must be patiently hoping we call ourselves to change!

It is rather mind blowing that rather than God changing to us despite our general irrational acts, God still remains God to us. It is we who have changed from being Celestians to Shameless sinners, and he only treats us as we have portrayed ourselves. A huge percentage of true Celestians still enjoy God’s grace and power to the fullest. The rest are desperately struggling without positives.
Dear brothers and sisters, we own this generation. Only we can change this church. Only we can change and restore the Celestial Church from the messy state it is in. Only we can rescue this church from shame.

If I can vow to keep the church rules and regulations. If you too can vow to keep the church rules and regulations, it will only take a little time for people to notice that the paradigm has shifted, and the image and standard of the church will then be restored to even a greater height.
Yes I can stand for change. Yes you can stand for change. Yes I am standing for change. Yes you are standing for change. Our little actions will have a powerful effect. God can use us to restore his beloved church. God will use us to restore his beloved church. We can be the change in this great church. Let us do it.
